About Precision Golf Works
Precision Golf Works was created to bring true custom-shop craftsmanship to golfers in the Daytona Beach area. With over 15 years as a golf professional, fitter, and club builder, I’ve seen how properly tuned equipment can completely transform a player’s confidence and consistency.
Meet Sam Mindlin – Founder & Master Club Builder
I’ve spent most of my career helping golfers understand their equipment and unlock better performance through better builds. After years of fitting, teaching, and building for golfers of all skill levels, I saw the need for a specialized, precision-focused workshop right here in Volusia County.
Precision Golf Works is my way of bringing tour-quality builds to everyday golfers.

🏌️ ARE LOW-SPIN DRIVER HEADS ONLY FOR GOOD GOLFERS OR HIGH SWING SPEEDS? 🤔
Not necessarily.
There’s a common misconception that low-spin driver heads are only designed for high-speed players or really good golfers. But your handicap and clubhead speed don’t tell the whole story.
A golfer with a moderate swing speed can still generate too much spin because of their impact location, angle of attack, dynamic loft, or overall delivery. In that case, a lower-spin head might actually produce better launch conditions, more distance, and a more efficient ball flight.
On the flip side, a high-speed player doesn’t automatically need the lowest-spinning head available. Take away too much spin and you can actually hurt carry distance and consistency.
👉 The goal isn’t LOW spin. It’s OPTIMAL spin.
That’s why you shouldn’t choose a driver simply because it says “LS” on the head—or avoid one because you think you don’t swing fast enough.
Get the numbers. Test different combinations. Find out what actually works for YOUR swing.

Can your tee height and golf ball gain you 20-plus yards with your Driver? Absolutely!
Too many golfers are using the wrong golf ball for their swing and also the wrong tee height. We are often taught to tee it high and let it fly. But that can be losing you distance. Hitting the ball high on the face with the driver can produce too little spin, causing the ball to fall out of the air and not give you as much distance as you could. Hitting the center of the face is king, so make sure to adjust your tee height to max out your drives. Then you have to make sure the golf ball fits you. If the golf ball spins too little, your golf ball will again drop out of the air and not get you your ideal distance—the same goes for your irons. If you are playing a golf ball that doesn’t give you enough spin, you won’t be able to hold the greens.

Want MORE SPIN? 🏌️♂️💨
What actually creates spin — the clubhead, golf ball, or shaft? The answer might not be what you think.
In this video, I break down the biggest equipment factors that influence spin and explain where you should actually focus if you’re trying to optimize your numbers.
The right combination of clubhead + ball + shaft matters, but they don’t all influence spin equally. And remember — equipment can only optimize what your delivery and strike give it!
This is exactly why a proper fitting is about more than just finding a shaft that “feels good.” We look at the entire system to get your equipment working with YOUR swing.

Think you need a $350+ premium shaft to play better? Think again. 👀⛳
Not every golfer needs the most expensive shaft on the market. In this video, I break down some excellent alternatives that can deliver outstanding performance without the premium price tag. The right shaft is about fit, not just cost.
A proper fitting can help you:
✅ Improve consistency
✅ Increase ball speed and distance
✅ Tighten dispersion
✅ Save money by choosing the shaft that actually fits your swing
At Precision Golf Works, I carry a wide variety of shaft options to fit every swing and every budget. Whether you’re chasing more distance, accuracy, or a better feel, I’ll help you find the best combination for your game.

A lot of golfers pick shaft flex based on swing speed alone — but tempo (how smoothly and quickly you transition from backswing to downswing) plays just as big a role. A fast, aggressive transition needs more support than a slow, smooth one, even at the same clubhead speed. Get it wrong and you’ll either lose control (too whippy) or lose feel and distance (too stiff).
The only way to really know? Get on a launch monitor and test it for yourself.

Does a lighter shaft always equate to faster clubhead speed? Not always, and in many fittings I have found that going with a lighter shaft makes the clubhead feel very unstable, so the golfer has to slow down to control the club. Therefore, ball speed will also go down. This is why a fitting is so important, and why you should try various shaft weights to find the one that fits you best. This also applies to your hybrids, woods, driver, and even wedges.
